Vision Therapy: Skills for a New Year! Ready, Set, GO!

Updated: 5 days ago

WELL DONE, NICHOLAS! Nicholas was determined during the month of February to complete his training routine on AmblyoPlay everyday! He received a gift voucher for entry to WILDNETS! AmblyoPlay is Vision Therapy through games and having fun!

Tips from Nicholas' mum to help engagement with AmblyoPlay

We limit screen time, so having to play games for 2x15min a day is considered a privilege to Nicholas. Once he started a week of seeing the "green squares" all in a row, on the parent Dashboard screen, he intrinsically wanted to continue the streak for at least the rest of the month.

The first session is usually completed in the morning, after breakfast. The second session in the afternoon after school and after having a decent snack. We always make sure Nicholas has had something to eat, before he does AmblyoPlay. If he's hungry, he won't do well. We don't leave AmblyoPlay to late evening, because Nicholas is often too tired and winding down after a long day, so he doesn't perform well with the AmblyoPlay tasks. We also realised that screen-time before bed, doesn't work well for Nicholas.

We expected (and received) a lot of push-back from Nicholas, it certainly wasn't all smooth sailing. However, persistence and consistency is the key! We don't give up, even when it's hard/tricky, it's an opportunity to learn more - we want to adopt a growth mindset!

What is AmblyoPlay?

AmblyoPlay is an engaging and effective solution for treating vision problems. It is performed through playing interactive games on a tablet or computer that you already own - so, no additional equipment is needed.

Assess - Set up AmblyoPlay to identify your age and specific vision challenges and AmblyoPlay will adapt vision therapy accordingly.

Enjoy - Enjoy the therapy process! Play the interactive therapeutic games for 30-minutes a day from the comfort of your home.

Improve - Progress tracking allows you to monitor your improvement through reports, and witness the positive changes in your vision.
